Jennifer Pham: Final Project Proposal
Short description: A computer and video gaming job is a dream for many people. The industry is very competitive and the courses are very expensive. But Joheidi Medina continues to invest her time and money to develop skills as a computer and video gaming graphics designer to get closer to her dream job.
Who do you plan to interview: Joheidi Medina
Where you plan to shoot footage: I plan to shoot footage at her home and work place.
Hook: I want to give an insight into the competitive and growing industry that is computer and video gaming designing. In addition, Joheidi Medina will share the complexity and components that comes with computer and video game designing.
Michaela Johnson Final Project Pitch
Description: The business program at UMD is a competitive limited enrollment program. I plan to follow Kayla Soos, a sophmore transfer student, on her pursuit to get accepted to the program. Kayla is very active in the UMD business community.
Interviews: I plan to do interviews with Kayla, along with students who have already been accepted into the business school, and administrators from the business program to find out what it takes to be admitted to and be a part of the rigorous program.
Where I plan to shoot footage: In the business school building, Van Munching. Also at events for Kayla's business fraternity, etc.
Hook: How a transfer student quickly got involved and is doing well at Maryland. How she balances classes, and extracurriculars that all pertain to her major and future such as her business fraternity and prospective internships.

Christopher Dimas final project proposal
Short description: Even with same-sex marriage now being legal in the U.S., the LGBT community still battles with issues of equality and discrimination, especially trans* individuals. I would like to talk to some of the students and staff of the LGBT Equity Center on campus and hear what life is like as an LGBT person on campus lately, identifying continued struggles, etc.
Who do you plan to interview: Luke Jensen, the Director for the LGBT Equity Center, and hopefully LGBT students on campus if any want to be interviewed. May also interview some of the other Equity Center staff.
Where you plan to shoot footage: The Equity Center itself largely, maybe footage within community centers or homes of LGBT students who want to be interviewed.
Hook: I want to show people that just because same-sex marriage was legalized nationwide doesn't mean that the battle is over. I've heard talk on campus of trans* students feeling under-represented in regards to resources on campus as well, and want to investigate this further.

Short description of what planned story is about: bilingual students on campus and how it helps or hinders their ability in their school work. For example, if they are taking a Spanish class, do they have perceived high expectations and what their daily lives are like being in a bilingual environment.
Who do you plan to interview: William Chavez, a senior studying criminology and criminal justice, OR Vanessa Tellez, a public health major, OR Bibana Hernandez, a electrical engineer major.
Where you plan to shoot footage: Their homes, dorms, library, etc.
What my hook is: I want to see how students who are bilingual can succeed just as well as students who speak only one language. I want to see the down side and the upside of being able to speak two languages.
